Tiger 3 is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films. The film stars Salman KhanKatrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles. A sequel to Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), it is the fifth installment in the YRF Spy Universe. The film is set after the events of Tiger Zinda HaiWar (2019) and Pathaan (2023). Following the events of Tiger Zinda HaiTiger and Zoya are framed as traitors by an ex-ISI agent named Aatish Rehman, where they go on a life-threatening crusade to clear their names.

Tiger3

Avinash "Tiger" Singh Rathore is called for a mission by R&AW chief Maithili Menon to rescue Tiger's former handler Gopi Arya from the Taliban in Afghanistan, who was captured after trying to extract information about a mission being planned in Pakistan. Following his rescue, Gopi reveals that Zoya is involved in the planned mission and dies shortly after. Tiger begins to spy on Zoya, where he is assigned to safeguard a RAW agent named Jibran Sheikh in St. Petersburg, Russia, who worked with Gopi and escaped to the country after being discovered in Pakistan. Tiger witnesses Zoya's attempt to assassinate Sheikh; after saving him, Tiger is captured by Zoya's protège and former ISI agent Aatish Rehman, who reveals that he forced Zoya to assassinate Sheikh by nearly fatally drugging and kidnapping her and Tiger's son Junior.

Tiger and Zoya recruit their team of RAW agents, consisting of Rakesh Prasad Chaurasia, Nikhil and Karan Rao; to steal a briefcase for Aatish, containing missile launch codes in Istanbul in exchange for Junior. Aatish then has Tiger and Zoya framed as terrorists and traitors by their respective countries, leading to Tiger's imprisonment in Pakistan. It is revealed in a flashback that Aatish sought to derail a peace treaty between India and Pakistan in Vienna in 2011 by assassinating the lead Indian army general twelve years earlier. After refusing to cooperate with the plan, Zoya covertly informed Tiger. Aatish's pregnant wife Shaheen Baig, attempted the assassination, but was shot and killed by Tiger. Aatish denied that his agents know about the plan and was subsequently imprisoned and ousted from the ISI.

Tiger is sentenced to death, but manages to escape from the army prison in northern Pakistan with the help of Pathaan. Tiger travels to Islamabad where he meets his adopted son, Hassan, a former child soldier turned hacker whom Tiger had rescued during the Ikrit mission. Tiger's team, Zoya and ISI agents Abrar and Javed return to Istanbul, where they learn that Aatish and Pakistani Army General Imtiaz Haq are planning to assassinate Pakistani Prime Minister Nasreen Irani in order for Aatish to replace her. Tiger, Zoya, and their team secretly enter the PMO and reveal the plan to Irani. Tiger and Zoya take Irani to an underground bunker and Tiger forces Haq to publicly reveal the plan.

However, Aatish secretly kills Haq with the help of Javed, who is revealed to be Shaheen's brother and frames Tiger for killing Haq. Abrar and Karan are killed by Aatish and Javed, who locate Irani. Hassan sacrifices himself to create a diversion, allowing Tiger and Zoya to help Irani escape. Zoya later avenges Abrar and Karan by killing Javed. Tiger kills Aatish, while Irani exposes Aatish's plan to the public. Tiger, Zoya and their team are proven innocent. Rakesh and Nikhil's charges are dropped by Menon while Tiger assures her that he will return to serve his country on his own terms.

In a post-credits scene, Colonel Sunil Luthra contacts Kabir Dhaliwal and assigns him to assassinate an unidentified person.

Apurva, also spelled as Apoorv, in Mimamsa philosophy is the performative element of an injunction that justifies ritualistic acts and their results. As an explanatory concept it serves as a mediator

Meanin

The Sanskrit word apūrva in its common usage means 'one of a kind', 'unique', 'like none-other', 'like never before' or 'unprecedented', it is something not foreseen, unpreceded, unprecedented, never seen before; in brief it means that which did not exist before or is newly born. Apurva cannot be denoted through any noun or by any verb; it is comprehended as a result of an act.

Apurva of Hindu philosophy

Bhartrhari explains that Pavarotti can be viewed in four ways: as Apurvakala-saktikriya, and kala. Kumarila Bhatta explains that Apurva is the newly known vidhi or what is not known before hearing a Vedic sentence. Salikanatha explains that Apurva is that which is not cognizable by any of the ordinary means of knowledge. And, according to Nagisa, the conclusion that if Pavarotti is identified with the universal Dharma it can be properly called Apurva, is the view adopted by Prabhakara who holds that the meaning of verbal endings is karya, and niyoga (obligation) is the very karya that prompts a man to fulfil itself. Karya is apurva or niyama (restriction), apurva is something that has not arisen before the performance of the sacrifice but is newly born after it. Niyoga or Apurva is the supersensuous result of an action which later on produces the sensible result or prayojana, the final purpose of the action, Therefore, Apurva is something different from the action itself and it is to be understood with regard to its capability of bringing about the heavenly world.

Implication

Sabara in his commentary on Mimamsa Sutra II.1.5 denies that Apurva can be perceived by the senses, and in his commentary on Mimamsa Sutra VI.8.27 explains that ordinary knowledge is different from religious knowledge in as much as the former deals with things and the latter, with words, because in ordinary life action is determined by things and not by words, but in Vedic matters, knowledge is gained by words alone. The followers of Mimamsa are of the view that scriptural language lacks an external source and that scriptural language is internalized, but its own epistemological procedure is devoid of any fixed ontology. Originally Apurva had to do with the all too common religious beliefs according to which a reward is given to anyone who strictly adheres to religious obligations and that made Apurva an intervening agency to be presented by the Mimamsa school as a theological tool for solving the discrepancy that may arise between the ritualistic act and its result i.e. an epistemic mechanism that indicates knowledge of causal links between acts and their consequences. Even though the word or term Apurva is not mentioned by Jaimini but is discussed by Sabara in his commentary on Mimamsa Sutras, but Jaimini says there is Codana, the performative element of an injunction, that justifies all religious actions. Sabara explains that by Codana, Jaimini meant Apurva, though Apurva as a link is not empirical in nature, and is ‘the smallest meaning’ related to meaning as a syllable is to a word. Wilhelm Halbfass understands it to be, within well-defined conditions, a conceptual device that is assumed to operate within a kind of closed system in which it seems to be secure against outside interference, that it serves as a mediator, as a conceptual link between the drsta (the visible) and the first (invisible) connecting the empirical spheres of actions and reactions with the religious non-empirical sphere in which lie the values of these actions and reactions. According to Kumarila, Apurva is a particular potentiality or capacity originated by the sacrificial acts located in the soul of the sacrificer who is the performer of Vedic rites, ensuring causal efficacy of those rites even though those Vedic rites are transitional in nature. However, Prabhakara rejects this view and concludes that Apurva resides in actions. But, for both, it is an explanatory concept.

Apurva, a female protagonist outwit the infamous gang of Chambal decoits.

The Hexer[ or The Witcher(Polish: Wiedźmin) is a 2001 Polish fantasy film directed by Marek Brodzki and written by Michał Szczerbic. It stars Michał Żebrowski as Geralt of Rivia. The story is based on the books and stories of The Witcher written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.

The 13-episode television series came out the following year. The film has been described as essentially the then-unreleased television series condensed into a two-hour film, and received very poor reviews from both fans and critics. The film was the first attempt to adapt The Witcher universe to cinema.

Production

The film had a budget of 19 million Polish zlotys, which was very high for contemporary Polish movies. Similarly, the film's marketing campaign had several times the budget of other Polish films of that time, in an attempt to imitate Hollywood's super-production. The film was aimed not just at science fiction and fantasy fans, but also at a general audience. To that end, its cast included many stars of Polish cinema, the music was composed by a well-known Polish composer, and the film was tied to a number of other promotional campaigns and related products inspired by the Witcher universe, such as toys and games, as well as the first official English translation of The Witcher.

The Hexer was the first film directed by Marek Brodzki. The final release was described as the third version of the film, rearranged and shortened. Some fans initially objected to the casting of several major roles.] Their protests, reported in the press, led to a meeting between the producers and the cast and fans, which eventually appeased most of the protesters. Citing two major departures from his original script, screenwriter Michał Szczerbic demanded that his name not appear in the closing credits.

Reception

The film received generally negative reviews after its release and since, with reviewers being generally positive in regard to actors and music, but critical of the plot and special effects.

Marcin Kamiński of Filmweb concluded that "it is not a good movie", noting that the plot was chaotic, mixing various adventures and scenes from the book series in a mostly random manner. Kamiński speculated that the film was intended as a glorified trailer for the subsequent television series. The montage of the scenes was considered so bad that it was said to evoke laughter in the audience, and the special effects were described as low-quality and obsolete. Kamiński did note that the film's saving grace was its actors, praising Michał Żebrowski, Zbigniew Zamachowski, Grażyna Wolszczak, and others.

Piotr Stasiak of gry-online praised the actors, scenography, costumes, and music, but criticized the fragmentary, incoherent plot, which was apparently due to the producers being unable to agree on the main plot and structure, and trying to summarize all of the key plot elements of the planned TV series episodes into one 2-hour movie.

Bartosz Kotarba of esensja criticized the plot, which "tries to tell too much and ends up telling too little", and the special effects, noting that the plastic dragon used for special effects was so lackluster that it resulted in salvos of laughter in the film audience. The reviewer was also critical of the unnecessary nudity and poor dialogue, though praised the actors for their efforts, as well as the music.

Sapkowski himself in several interviews laconically expressed his negative opinion about the film: "I can answer only with a single word, an obscene, albeit a short one am a Polish Catholic, it is Lent now; I cannot utter swear words".

In a 2016 review, Barnaba Siegel of Gazeta.pl referred to the film as "the film we all want to forget".[1 Siegel noted that while some actors were good, others acted as if in a story directed at children. Siegel also criticized some casting decisions, which portrayed then-popular comedy actors in serious roles, making it more difficult for audiences to treat the production as aimed at adults. Siegel was also critical of the plot, special effects, and costuming. He attributed the failures of the production to an inexperienced production crew, in particular director Marek Brodzki.

In a 2018 Gazeta Wyborcza retrospective, Maciej Grzenkowicz noted that the film has been "crushed by the reviewers and laughed out by fans".

Filmweb provides a score of 3.9/10.

The film has been subject to several analyses in academic research. In his 2015 article on The Hexer film and series, Robert Dudziński noted that both became in Poland "widely recognized examples of the weak level of Polish cinema's entertainment releases and a common butt of jokes of Polish science fiction and fantasy fans"
